Just noticed your message regarding recall. The thing to bare in mind is that these service indicators really are just that,"indicators". If you cast your mind back, there were one or two instances with your M Roadster, where we were pleased to know that there was a certain amount of flexability with mileages. It is intended to be used as a reminder to book your car in with the lovelly Caron or the not so lovelly Richard. Many thanks for driving past me two days before Xmas, while my car was suffering from a broken clutch!!!
Could that be yet another beer you owe me??
Cheers

Mark

My BMW dealer has asked me to return the car to have the 'service indicator' replaced. Apparently many of them are faulty and not showing a true reading.

This is worrying since the existing indicator is now saying that the car requires an 'oil service' after 7k miles .... so, ... does it or doesn't it ?? How would BMW know ? Should they carry out an oil service anyway to ensure customer peace of mind ?

Comments please
regards
Adam
