if they were to build more Z8s then planned, BMWs problem would not so much be engine production as it would be that their machine tools only have so much life to them- theyd need to generate a new set. If BMW is cutting M5 production, my guess is it has nothing to do with the Z8 and more to do with making sure the M5 doesnt get "over produced" If thats their mindset, I cant imagine they would produce more Z8s then.

180k is probably close to where the market for a Z8 is today in the USA. However, if you really want one, do some footwork and call a lot of dealers around the nation, you might find something but you might have to wait for it. That said- its well worth the wait.
