The intensity of this pulling effect varies. As I mentioned, when driving on a good freeway, there is none of it. At the other extreme, last night I pulled up to a light and as I braked gently to a stop I took my hand off the wheel to test the effect and the car pulled sharply to the right just as my speed bled off to zero. As it was dark I couldn't tell if this particular bit of roadway had an unusual shape or not.
I find myself cruising with left elbow resting on the arm rest, and left hand lightly holding the steering. My right hand is not on the wheel. When drivng like this, the pulling effect is noticeable because my left hand is often having to pull the wheel back a bit. When I drive with both hands on the wheel, at 9 and 3, the effect is barely perceptable and not intrusive.
So, what is your experience driving your Z8. Do you get this effect? Is this to be expected with such direct and quick steering systems as we have in the Z8? Is this also partly the fault of using very wide and very hard tires? I have never driven a high performance car like this before, so I don't know what to expect. Any comments would be appreciated.
