So today I find myself a BMW Sales Consultant. Without meaning to denigrate my fellow sales team members, who have far more retail sales experience than I have, I think I know a bit more about the marque we love than most of them.
I spent a lot of time in the San Francisco Bay Area over the past month (lived there for a few years, moved to the Nevada desert in '98), and the prices for new Z8s and M5s in the Bay Area were shockingly high to me, even after the economic downturn and dot.com fallout that plagued much of the past year.
And that's why I wanted to let you know that we have a black/black Z8 and an Alpine white/black M5 coming in, and our dealership prices are vastly lower than many I've seen. The Z8 is $175K. The M5 is $10K over MSRP. Sure, I know, nobody wants to pay over sticker, but obviously people are. Compare that to the $225K "slightly used" Z8 and $25K over list 2001 M5 I saw in San Francisco, and these are bargains. (I think we have a shot at changing the colors on the Z8 yet, not sure about the M5.)
I'd love to see these cars go to good homes (since they can't go to mine). Wouldn't you rather buy from a fellow BMW zealot? Please send me an e-mail and let's talk.
