I placed my Z8 order a while back. But I had heard from several BMW dealers that there was no way I would get my Z8 at list...My car would be sold for >$200k without my even knowing it was what they said.

Well - even though I live in Texas, I placed an order for a black/crema-black Z8 with Orr BMW in Shreveport Louisana. It was the only place I could find who would sell me one at list. I had a feeling that since they don't know me from Adam and they know I am not in a position to buy a lot of cars from them, that when push came to shove they would sell it to someone else.

But it turns out I was pleasantly surprised. One day they called me and said it was ready. I got on a flight to Shreveport and picked it up. Them I drove the 350 miles to Austin and had a great time.

It's rare that I am pleasantly surprised by car salesmen but these guys are the real deal. No nonsense and no tricks. And my Z8 is awesome. One of these days I will drive it into the original smart-ass dealer (who shall renaain nameless and said how naiive I was wanting it at list price) and buy a set of floor mats ;-)

By the way -- as everyone else on the board has commented..the car is awesome.

Drive it there for your service (Maybe). Order your mats from the dealer that sold the car to you at list. I suspect it was probably John Roberts BMW.
I bought two 540's from Fred Brown in Bryan because of the Greed of John Roberts in Austin.
I am currently awaiting my Z8 at list from Fred Brown.
The closest I get to John Roberts is when I am buying Groceries at Whole Foods.
Overall they suck. I do all my purchases and service with Fred Brown even though I live four miles from John Roberts.
