2) to me BMW=solid engineering and reliability whereas Ferrari=poor build quality, poor long term reliability, difficult repair, feels like a race car (I've driven race cars, they are not comfortable) and Porsche=ugly in and out, wife hates Porsches, no personality, harsh ride
3) "just a BMW" meaningless to me. Now, if you had said its "just a Volkswagen" I would understand. To me BMW = premium mainstream builder (this is good).
4) I'm heavily influenced by looks, and the Z8 looks great. Some Ferraris look great too. Porsches do not look great.
5) wanted a comfortable cruiser, not a race car.

How come you Z8 owners decided to purchase a Z8 over a ferrari or porshce turbo? Although the Z8 is undoubtedly a beautfully well-made and engineered car, it is still just a BMW. This message is out out of pure curiosity, and is not intended to be an insult.
