FYI, the dealer could find no abnormal drain when the car was off, but they did find that the battery was weak. As its a "no-maintenance" type they couldn't tell what might be wrong so they replaced it. One question they asked was whether or not the car had sat for a while at the port. It turns out that I'd been told that it had sat at the Elizabeth POE longer than usual due to congestion at the port and snow storms in Jersey. The dealer suspected that the car, having been brought over and run very little, had sat with the battery discharged for a long enough time to damage its ability to hold a charge. We'll see.
