Dave, FYI, the dealer could find no abnormal drain when my car was off, but they did find that the battery was weak. As its a "no-maintenance" type they couldn't tell what might be wrong so they replaced it. One question they asked was whether or not the car had sat for a while at the port. It turns out that I'd been told that it had sat at the Elizabeth POE longer than usual due to congestion at the port and snow storms in Jersey. The dealer suspected that the car, having been brought over and run very little, had sat with the battery discharged for a long enough time to damage its ability to hold a charge. We'll see. I recently purchased a 2001 Z8. It currently has 175 miles on it. I went to start it the other day and the battery was dead. I called the dealer and was told that "this is a normal occurance for this car if you don't start or drive it regularly". I hadn't started it in about a week. They said that the computers on the car are a constant drain on the battery, They then sold me an auto shut-off charger. Has anyone else heard of or experienced this problem??
