I would like to know the production sequence of my car. I have the Production number and the VIN Number. Is there a portion of the VIN that idenfies say that this car Number Whatsoever? I remember that Z8 Bob's like say #34. My dealer didn't remember off hand.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

The serial number (last 6 digits of the VIN) are issued in order (there may be breaks between model years however). So it you know the start number for that model year you can subtract that to get the the "car number".


The VIN is devided in different definitions WBA (Producer => BMW) EJ13 (Typ => Z8 US) 4 9 1 (Modelyear => 2001) AH60642 (Serialno.). Your car is Production-#2382 and #650 for the US-Market.
