The Z8 is designed to get an emotional response out of people. Im talking driving experience as well as looks. Ive found that the people who dont like the driving experience immediately point out the center gauges, while those who do like it say its no big deal.

So as far as Im concerned, I agree with Harvy2 that its a red herring.
