What can a Z8 do? (archive)

I have met two very nice Z8 owners in the DC area and they were not members of the BMWCCA. My question is this, before I tell them the wonders and fun of club racing can they race? I know that where I used to live they had a no rag top rule in everything except highway safety and concourse. I have been told that it is the same for the DC chapter. Another question, if the "hard top" is on the Z8 does that change the rule? thanks for your input.
