Would you buy a 130k car (before racing mods made) and race it? I would consider a DE, but race? Are you nuts? These things are EXPENSIVE to fix if it gets even a little bit bent (read aluminium chassis).

To answer your question, a Z8 will need a FULL cage to race. Some places might let it in as is in a DE, but I doubt the DC chapter will. Check with the local Porsche clubs if you can run with them, they usually allow convertibles.
