The rack came in a separate box. There is a lightweight, slightly padded cover as well. I have not assembled the rack, but is does have casters.

BMW markets a “Universal Hoist” for hard tops. Manual pulley with four-point attachment. My personal preference is to hang the top, high up on the wall of the garage where kids, bikes & earthquakes won’t get to it. BMW makes a heavy duty bag with two handles for the Z3 hardtop. My dealer is ordering one to see if we can fit the Z8 top in it. It can be hung by hooks on the wall or ceiling. I’ll post when we find out.
