I was #5 at one dealer, #2 at another. The car I purchased was the third received by the first dealer. They held the car three weeks for buyer #3 who finally decided "no" (this is why car sat for 1 month) and buyer #4 wasn't ready for the car and passed. Other buyers I have talked to were in multiple queues as well. I have obviously passed on the car coming at the second dealership. I therefore believe that there are less real buyers than there are in queues at dealers.
But I also note that the first dealer has an aftermarket car on their floor for $169K and say they have a good offer from the west coast for $165.
Will the showroom car sell at $169? How long until supply = demand?
