This is only the beginning! As you get it broken in the real fun will begin. You have discovered what only owning this car teaches you, that sharing the car makes it twice as much fun.

Have a blast. Take the wife out once in a while to keep the peace.

Bob

BTW the center lights are the brights. the "fog" light button to the left of the steering column is for the single rear fog light. The other rear light is the back-up light.

Have you noticed the pin lights at the top inside of the door pulls?

Z8=WOw..The silver and red are stunning...thank you to Z8 Bob, Z8 Mania, TG, et. al for all your recommendations in the color choice phase of my experience. Like Z8 Mania, after seeing the car in all colors except red, which was never a considered choice of mine, IMO the car is a phenom in Silver & Red. Have owned and driven some fine cars (porsches, ferraris etc.) in my time, but nothing compared to the emotion this car evokes in the driver and the public. This car draws out the giddiness people had when they were kids. It makes people unashamed to say wow!
People from all walks of life come up to take pictures, talk, etc. with no reservation of admitting to being stunned by the car...like TG said, people don't feel like it's just another rich guy, they don't care, they love the car. I must admit, I am taken by this, not so much the attention which can be a pain if you're pressed for time, but the way it seems to bring out the child in a person. What I mean is adults can mask emotions, whereas if a kid likes something..no holding back. The Z8 really does somehting to people. I make an extra effort to answer their questions, because IMO it serves the marque and my belief that being uppity is unnecesary. I think it would be an injustice to turn away all the excitement the car stirs up in people.

The wife is wondering why my short 2mile drive to the store took so long :). So I am being a good boy until tomorrow.

By the way, any of you other owners have any difficulty illuminating the round lights in the front grill? I chose to remove the day time running lights feature and am not sure if these circular lights/front foglights are strictly for that purpose. I have exhausted the owners manual, but nothing in there specifically mentions the circular lights/front foglamps. Will check with my dealer on monday but any info you guys have will be appreciated.

By the way, the K-40 I had installed is perfect for the car does not interfere with the retro feel of the car. I will take a picture of the placement of the diodes and post for those interested. I know the K-40 is not the best out there, but I will take a few false alarms in the city, where I don't go fast anyway for the unobtrusiveness it provides. In highway mode it is excellent.

Unique features of the Z8 that were totally unexpected by me:
1.Actual realization & feel of rearward seating position
2.left or right side parking light illumination by choice
3. Shared mirror selection and window selection
4. Really cool readouts for turn signal indicators & etc on the dash.
5.Excellent location of interior lighting controls
6. Volunteering for every motorized required household errand, as an excuse to drive the Z8.
7. Refusing to park the car you just want to keep driving.
8. Finding that my 540I-6 is no longer the first choice when leaving the house.

Oh well.. I'll get off my soap box. Pictures to follow this week. I have to spend at least 1/2 day at home today.. so the wife doesn't get too pissed...:)..
