The Z8 is nowhere near as cool as the M1, the M Coupe, the 6 series, the 3.0cs, or even the Isetta! It is okay, but CLASSIC? Just because BMW made a supercar that only a few select people can afford, does not mean it's a classic. I am not jealous; I dig the Z8. It is, however, not all it's cracked-up as.

Certainly the technology used in creating the Z8 is phenominal, but the design is simply a "retro-throwback" to BMWs of yesteryear (ie, 507). The actual prototype model, with the hump on the decklid is far cooler than what Bav's finished product became!

I'd pay half what the z8 is currently selling for, and get an M5. That way I could carry groceries home AND drive a 400hp Bimmer.

Better yet, I'd rather have a '97 850, an '88 M5, an '88 M6, and enough cash left over to maintain ALL of them AND throw a twenty-thousand dollar party.

BMW jacked the price of the Z8 way up to try and force German supercars into the 200K plus price range. Even the $128k "bargain" Z8 I saw in the paper is a ripoff.

You could have an M5 AND an E55 for what some jerks are asking for Z8s

You could get an M1, AND have the loot to fix it for the next two decades.

You could have a Lambo, a Ferrari, or even a Bentley Turbo R for way less than a Z8. Why on earth would you pay that much?

BY THE WAY, if the Z8 retailed for $79,000, or even $89,000, it would be WAY more fair.
