I was informed by BMW NA senior mgt that they would not start SMG production until September. Means you will not see the first ones until November. Do you have a production number? If not you may find you have a longer wait than you anticipate. I would be interested to know the sceduled production date of your car if you do have a number.

As to price of a USED Z8, what could you be thinking? 100, 1,000 or 3,000 miles it is a used car at that point. New Z8s are retailing at $145-165 and wholesale at around MSRP. If you are getting the car at MSRP and drive it, you may come out close to whole. If you are paying over, you will probably be out of pocket.

I am expecting to take delivery of a black on black/creme Z8 either this week, or next. It hit port almost 2 weeks ago. I have already decided that I am going to flip it and have now put a deposit down for an M3C w/SMG trans. I just cannot justify driving a car that if I get rear-ended has to be sent off for repairs. The M3C seems like a much better daily-driver in my eyes, for me. Anyway, I am wondering what a fair asking price will be for the Z8? I figure I will put 1-2,000 miles on it (albeit, very nice break-in miles) while I wait for the M3C to come in. And please don't give me smart-ass answers. Thanks a bunch in advance.
