I have really nothing much to add to what they have already expressed. I have never driven a car that is this much fun, comfort, power & beauty in one package with full BMW support & reliability.

I had lunch last year with Henrik Fisker, the car's "father" at BMW. My biggest "nit" with the car was the pastic rear window and the manual top cover. BMW clearly can make fully automatic tops with glass windows (see the 3 series/M3 cabrios). Henrik said that the fully automatic, fully insulated, glass windowed roof was rejected because it would "...raise the waistline of the car by at least 4 inches..." which would destroy the lines of the car. If you look at the MB SL, the Porsches, or the BMW 3s you can immediately see what BMW decided to trade-off for in the car. His view was that the soft top was an emergency top and that if the driver wanted a heated glass rear window and a quiet ride, put n the supplied hard top.

I plan on being buried in mine, with the hard top on!

Have an opportunity to purchase new 2001 U.S. Z8 at MSRP. Based upon your ownership experience are you satisfied with your car and has it met your expectations? How does it compare to other sportscars you have owned? If you could do it all over again would you buy the Z8 or another model? Do you drive it more or less than antiscipated and what if anything about the car has been a dissapointment? Thanks for the feedback.
