This sounds exactly like the symtom that you get when you plug a standard startac into the BMW base unit, the ones with the BMW or Mercedes logos work while the generic one do the power cycle thing. I bet that the hand unit is the problem, please let us know if they can actually fix your phone, since I believe that the 7000 series phones are out of production


My CPT 7000 constantly resets itself whe it is hooked to the cradle(turns itself off after being on for 2 or 3 seconds). Has anyone experienced this problem? The dealership ordered a new phone brain but I don't thibnk that this is the problem and repairing the brian is booked at 4.0 hours indicating alot of taking apart which I obviously want to try to avoid.
