no problems with it fitting the cradle. You should be able to just put the phone in the cradle and press down so the two clips in the cradle move apart as the phone snaps in. You can also depress the two cradle clips to get the phone in. Make sure the phone is in the cradle before pluggin the phone in. Check the owners manual, there is section that outlines the procedure. The only difficulty I have had with the cradle is sometimes when removing the phone it would be too tight in the cradle and I would have to twist the phone to one side to get it out. I have stopped using the cradle as much, because I have had major difficulties using the speaker hands free system when the car is really moving at any appreciable speed. You really can't hear very well with it and your party has trouble hearing you. The system in my 5series works much better. It may be due to the open top driving and maybe wind interference (just guessing). I have used the speaker system with no problems when I was in a parking lot and really not moving at any significant speed with the top down. I plan on testing the system with the top up and see if it works better...I suspect it will. Just accepted delivery of Z8 and telephone handset {CPT8000} deoes not seem to fit cradle in console. You almost have to force the unit in and out of the cradle. The Star-Tac unit is silver w/BMW logo the cradle is black. Anyone have a similar problem???
