Hardtop #3 Arrived Damaged..... (archive)

Went to the dealer to pick my 3rd titanium hardtop last week and whaddya know....Damaged!

The left rear point was chipped. Hey, its getting better!
The first one had extensive fiberglass damage on the points. The second one had chips and rubbed off paint on both tips. They are getting a little smarter with packing this thing, they are finally glueing blue foam inside the box where the points might touch. The box clearly states in English and German "to place nothing on top of the box," but it is obvious that this is happening during transport.

The tips on the third top had penetrated the foam and rubbed the top of the box. BMW will save money by building a simple wooden frame that prevents the box top from being compressed. They rushed top #4 to my dealer last Wednesday and I should get it next week. Anybody want to set the odds?

Here in Florida, the hardtop goes on in the summer, so I am getting antsy!
