The manual boot was done for functional reasons regarding the decision to not interfere with the line of the car. It was a trade-off that is worth it IMO.

What a fantastic automobile. It is beautiful, fast, comfortable and a real pleasure to drive. The build quality is great. In top down form it is easily the best looking car on the road. The only complaints I have are: the glare in the windshield from the silver upper dashboard and the manual boot setup.
