Besides your personal taste it depends on where you live (weather conditions, dust, dirt...) and how you are going to use the car. Mine is a daily driver and therefore red would have been the wrong choice anyway. I need to clean it once a week and this is by far enough waste of time IMO (if car care is not your favorite hobby).
Besides, if you choose red and don't want to have the car only as a garage queen, you do need black carpets.
