A recent BMW bulletin advised NOT to connect a CPT 8000 phone into a vehicle equipped for a CPT 7000 phone. The 7 series with 8000 series phones have a red dot on cradle where phone attaches. Also look at your monroney sticker - the itemization of options on the vehicle - it should say CPT 7000 or CPT 8000 phone compatible.

Per an earlier post I recently took delivery of Z8 with the new CPT 8000 telephone. However this phone does not fit properly in the console cradel. After alerting the dealer of this they now tell me the correct phone is the older model CPT 7000. It seems that I have read on this board that recent Z8 deliveries have the new 8000 model. Can anyone confirm this? Also what is the main difference between the two models? Thanks
