If you use tape that is sticky on both sides, they should not be able to see the tape, I do not have the front plate on mine and I do not like the look of it.

Actually I live closer to allison than University Ave, I was having dinner in front of Tazo last night.

I don't think they sign it off if they see it's just taped...... I am thinking to go to Allison BMW to have it attached... I haven't seen any Z8 with front plate. I wonder how it looks....

The cop was being a hardass, California law does require a front plate, but it is one of the most ignored laws, just stick it on with double sided masking tape and then carefully remove it after you get it signed off.
