No, I don't think that's it. I would not describe this as "clanking", but more of a click or tick (very sharp and occurs as one tick sound per bounce or per flex of the body). From the drivers seat, it sounds like it is coming from the direction of the gauge cluster.

if you mean you hear metallic clanking sounds when you hit some bumps in the road- yes I have that. I had it looked at by my dealer and also the NA rep and as it turns out, supposedly all the Z8s have this. They think its the metal leavers for turn signal, etc and also the steering wheel lock magnets clanking around. we mostly remedied the situation by extending the steering wheel. Ive now driven a few Z8s and each one is similar but no two are the same.
