Do I need to finalize this(the phone)now or is it a dealer installed feature that can be addressed at a later date?
A. Dealer ordered Item. It is not really an installation. The car should have the wiring for the 8000CPT phone. You just tell your dealer whether it is CDMA(verizon) or TDMA (AT&T). I had mine ordered when my car hit the Vehicle Processing Center (CDMA). Five days later when I picked up the car, my dealer handed me the phone. I have heard that the cdma is nicer and more advanced than TDMA. I have never seen the TDMA phone however. You just plug it in when you use it in the car..which doesn't really have great reception (probably due to the antennae being in the rear bumper). I usually use my phone in portable mode..rarely in the car. It is like a small startac phone..called the motorolla timeport.
Is there anything else other than the color choices that I should worry about now? Thanks for the help.
A. Hardest thing I had to deal with was settling on the color of the car. Again, the members of the board I mentioned earlier, helped tremendously with that.
You need to make sure that your windscreen is coming with the car, your hardtop, hardtop stand and hardtop cover should also be included...if it is a US Car. Some members of this board have had to wait for these items for a while after taking delivery. Some members also mentioned dealers mentioning a charge for the hardtop stand. These should all be included with no charge.
It may not be an issue in your case, since the cars that followed mine were all being shipped with the hardtops. However, not all had the stands with them. You need the stand and cover for proper storage...since in my opinion, the car is best driven with the top down.
I hope this helps. It is worth the wait.
Good Luck.
