and when it was built. The early M5 motors burned alot more oil. Rings were changed in later production. If you varied the rev's and occassionally "pushed" them up to 4,500 +/- for a few seconds at a time during breakin the oil burn is at a minimum. I burn slightly less than a quart every 1,000 now.

How much oil are your cars burning? My M5 would burn a quart every 2500 miles or so and has leveled off after 10K. But my Z8 burns a quart about ever 700 miles. Is this normal?
