Same thing happened to me...dead battery. I called Bmw Roadside Assistance and they came right to my home with a new battery. Then drove to dealer who installed a new revised connector cable for the telephone compensator. There is a service bulletin on this problem. So far so good ...it has started fine the last three days.

Went to hop into my beautiful new Z8 last night and it was "deader than a door-nail". Never had a problem until the 8000 phone was delivered and installed. One of the saddest pictures in the world is having your Z8 dragged up onto the back of a flatbed truck for transportation to the dealer...this thing was so dead, they couldn't even jump start it. I couldn't get in the trunk because the trunk latch is electrical. I thought they had corrected these problems (mine was manufactured in mid-May).
